| AMY
HENRY, LAST WOMAN STANDING FROM “THE APPRENTICE,”
SIGNS BOOK DEAL WITH ST. MARTIN’S PRESS
St.
Martin’s Press has purchased world, audio, and serial rights
to WHAT IT TAKES: Speak Up, Step Up, Move Up by Amy Henry. The
six-figure deal was negotiated by SMP editor Nichole Argyres and
Maura Teitelbaum of Abrams Artists Agency.
In
WHAT IT TAKES, Amy Henry, a formidable business
woman and national star from “The Apprentice,” will
share her experiences, skill, and in-your-face advice for young
women on the fast-track in the business world. With an impressive
ten-year business career, mostly in male-dominated industries,
Amy has learned how women can succeed in the workplace by using
the strategies men do every day, and by thinking of femininity
as an asset, not a liability.
WHAT
IT TAKES will be packed full of real-life examples and practical
advice, strategies, and tactics Amy uses to make the workplace
work for her:
- No crying in the boardroom---use the right
emotions at work.
- Know the power of networking---get connected to the right people.
- Negotiate for what you're worth---get the compensation you
deserve.
- Make your accomplishments known--- how stealth bragging gets
you noticed.
- Speak assertively---confidence isn't arrogance.
- Employ humor and charm---your personality is an asset.
- Dating at work---know the consequences.
- Ask forgiveness not permission---take a risk.
WHAT
IT TAKES will be a controversial guide to the reality
of today’s business world. With her platform, work experience,
style, and know-how, Amy Henry will be the new model for young
business women.
St.
Martin’s Press is planning a late September 2004 publication.
